Here are two questions that show how far you get in under a minute. **In short** - You write the way you speak – no SQL, no report requests. - The semantic model makes sure the figures are correct, whether the data comes from Business Central, Jeeves, Monitor, Pyramid or Visma. - Question 1 gives you the factual basis. Question 2 turns it into a working document. - The result lands in Excel – where you and your sales team can fine-tune it further. ## How to prompt A good prompt does three things: it states **what** you want, **how** it should be limited and in **which format** you want the answer. The assistant fills in the rest from the semantic model – the calendar, the customer hierarchy, the currency and which sales measure applies. The assistant interprets the question against the model, chooses rolling twelve months and net revenue, and tells you which assumptions it made – so you can correct it with a single word if you meant something else. Back comes a ranked list: the customer's name, sales over the last twelve months, share of total revenue and the trend against the previous year. If you would rather see margin than revenue, or just one district, all you have to do is say so in your next sentence. ### Question 2: turn the list into a budget Now you build on the same selection. The assistant remembers which hundred customers you are talking about – you don't need to paste in the list again. > Can you help me with a budget for these customers? The budget should be spread across the coming 12 months based on last year's sales in the corresponding month. The budget should increase by 5% across the board, and I want to be able to adjust the budget for each customer in an Excel format. > > — Example prompt That prompt contains everything needed: the selection (these customers), the distribution (the coming twelve months), the basis (the corresponding month last year), the rule (+5%) and the delivery (adjustable Excel). A couple of seconds later you have a file with one row per customer and one column per month. The seasonal pattern from the previous year is preserved, so July looks like July instead of one twelfth of the annual volume. On the far left, the growth percentage sits in its own column – overwrite it for an individual customer and the totals recalculate immediately. The measures are defined once – net revenue is net revenue, no matter which business system the row comes from – and the permissions carry over. The assistant doesn't guess. No. You write the question in plain language, just as you would ask a colleague. The assistant translates it into queries against the semantic model. ### How do I know the figures are correct? The measures are defined once in the model and are the same as in your reports. The assistant also states which period, which measure and which selection it used, so you can check the assumptions. ### Can everyone see all customers? No. Permissions carry over from the model. A salesperson who only sees their own district in the reports only gets their own district in the answer. ### Which business systems does it work with? Business Central, Jeeves ERP, Monitor ERP, Pyramid and Visma Business, among others. Data from several companies and several systems can sit in the same model. ### Can I change the budget afterwards? Yes. The Excel file has an adjustable growth percentage per customer, and you can just as easily overwrite individual monthly amounts. You can also ask the assistant for a new version with different rules. ### Can the budget be read back into the system? Yes. The completed file can be imported into Vellox and tracked against actuals, so budget and actual sales are shown side by side in the same report.
